Cuttack,30/9/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 30.09.2021, Ms. Subarna Singh, ICDS Supervisor, Berhampur Sector, office of C.D.P.O. Nilgiri, Dist-Balasore has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from a complainant for verification of documents of his cousin, a newly appointed Anganwadi worker under Berhampur Sector, Nilgiri.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 30.09.2021 wherein the accused Ms. Subarna Singh, ICDS Supervisor was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in front of office of CDPO, Nilgiri while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Ms. Singh and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as vanity bag wash of Ms. Singh gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the office room of Ms. Singh inside office of CDPO, Nilgiri and her house at native village Tulsibandha, Berhampur, Balasore. She has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.19 dated 30.09.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
