Bhubaneswar, September 22, 2021.(Odisha Samachar )- On the occasion of International Day of Peace, Society for Nature, Education and Health (SNEH) organized an event on September 21, at Mayfair Nagar basti in the Salia Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar. SNEH has been working in eight habitations of the slum, in the field of peacebuilding and conflict resolution for last five years. Currently, SNEH is implementing a unique project on Restorative Justice in the slum community. SNEH has formed eight peace committees in as many habitations and has empowered the community-based peace builders by enhancing their capacities in conflict resolution. The organization is also arranging regular and exclusive activity-based programs for the slum children on peace and harmony.
The Padma Library, exclusively for children, has also been set up in the Peace Park in the Mayfair Nagar Basti and was inaugurated on the occasion.
The children staged a skit and performed two tribal dances on the occasion. And then settled down to a story-telling session in the new library.
