FIVE REVENUE OFFICIALS ARRESTED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE FOR ILLEGAL LAND ALLOTMENT UNDER VASUNDHARA SCHEME.

Cuttack,23/8/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- In connection with Vigilance Cell PS Case No.04 dated 22.08.2021 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 along with Section 466/409/120-B IPC, 5 accused Revenue Officials namely 1) Shri Ramesh Chandra Panda, OAS, Ex-Tahasildar, Kujanga, Dist-Jagatsinghpur, A/p-Tahasildar Tihidi, Dist-Bhadrak, 2) Shri Santosh Kumar Mallick, Ex-Revenue Inspector, Jhimani RI Circle, A/p-RI, Tirtol, 3) Shri Narendra Kumar Lenka, Ex-Revenue Inspector, Paradeep Garh (Retired), 4) Shri Subash Chandra Das, Ex-Revenue Inspector, Kujanga (Retired) and 5) Shri Jyoti Bhusan Barik, Ex-Revenue Inspector, Pandua Circle, A/p-RI, Ersama have been arrested by Odisha Vigilance today for committing criminal misconduct, misappropriation, forgery and criminal conspiracy in illegally settling valuable Government land under the Odisha land settlement Act in favour of ineligible beneficiaries under the Vasundhara Scheme in Jagatsinghpur district.

Earlier today, simultaneous searches were launched at 9 places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur by teams led by 1 Addl. SP, 11 DSsP, 6 Inspectors and other staff.

In course of investigation, as prima-facie evidence was well established, they have been arrested and are being forwarded to the Court.

Investigation is in progress in the case.
