3 FOREST RAIDS BY ODISHA VIGILANCE IN A DAY.

 

       MINOR MINERAL, VEHICLE & TIMBER WORTH OVER RS.56 LAKH SEIZED. 

On receipt of reliable information regarding illegal transportation of black granite stone from forest land, joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Vigilance Directorate and Cuttack Vigilance Division with the assistance of local forest staff of Dalijoda Forest Range on 06.08.2021 near Gandhi Chhak, NH-53, Chandikhol, Dist-Cuttack. During raid, two nos of Haiwa vehicles loaded with black granite stones worth Rs.51,30,000/- (Rupees Fifty-one Lakhs Thirty Thousand) were seized. There was no valid permit/documents in support of minor minerals and therefore violated the provision of the Minor Mineral Concession Rule, 2004. In this connection, two nos of forest cases vide Case No.28D and 29D of 2021-22 were registered in Dalijoda Forest Range under Cuttack Forest Division.

In 2nd Operation today, getting reliable information regarding illegal hoarding of timber in two illegal furniture units at Shyamsundarpur and Angulei under Kendrapara and Marshaghai Police Station, Dist. Kendrapara, joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Vigilance Directorate and Cuttack Vigilance Division with the assistance of local forest staff of Kendrapara Forest Range. During raid, 75 Cft timber worth Rs.3,05,000/- (Rupees Three lakh Five Thousand) was seized. There was no legal document or permit in support of the above timber. In this connection, two nos of forest cases vide No.1KP and 2KP of 2021-22 were registered under Kendrapara Forest Range under Cuttack Forest Division.

In 3rd Operation today, getting reliable information regarding illegal hoarding of timber at Baghuasahi and Tailangi, PS-Kaliapani, Dist. Jajpur, joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Vigilance Directorate and Cuttack Vigilance Division with the assistance of local forest staff of Sukinda Forest Range. During raid, 70.70 Cft timber worth Rs.1,77,250/- (Rupees One lakh Seventy-seven Thousand Two Hundred Fifty) was seized. There was no legal document or permit in support of the above timber. In this connection, two nos of forest cases vide No.6SK and 7SK of 2021-22 were registered under Sukinda Forest Range under Cuttack Forest Division.

In total, 6 forest cases were detected and registered and value of vehicle, timber and minor mineral worth Rs.56,12,250/- (Rupees Fifty-six Lakh Twelve Thousand Two Hundred Fifty) were seized.
