Cuttack,22/7/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )-On 21.07.2021, Vigilance Officers of Koraput Division had intercepted Sri Ugrasen Patel, Sub-Inspector of Police, Golamunda PS, Dist. Kalahandi at 6 PM near Golamunda bus stand, while he was plying towards Golamunda Police station in his Bajaj Pulsar motor cycle. During interception, a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs) was found from his possession which he could not account for satisfactorily.
Assessment and valuation of assets based on searches carried out at his office and residential locations is under progress.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS case No.14 dt.21.7.2021 U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Ugrasen Patel, Sub-Inspector of Police, Golamunda PS, Dist. Kalahandi. Today i.e. on 22.07.2021, Sri Patel has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance Bhawanipatna.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
