EX-JUNIOR CLERK CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE TRAP CASE.

Cuttack,29/6/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Sri Kumuda Chandra Ojha, Ex-Junior Clerk, office of Sub-Registrar, G.Udayagiri, Dist. Kandhamal now retired was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani in Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dated 13.3.2018 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Manoj Kumar Samal of village Kainjhar, PS-Tikabali, Dist. Kandhamal in order to issue Encumbrance Certificate (E.C) in favour of complainant.

Today, i.e. on 29.6.2021, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani convicted Sri Ojha, Ex-Junior Clerk and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months for the offence U/s Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Sri P. Chatria, Inspector, Vigilance, Berhampur Division had investigated the case and Sri V.V. Ramdas, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Phulbani conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
