Cuttack,21/6/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 21.6.2021, Sri Sushant Kumar Mishra, Junior Clerk, S.R. High School, Dharakote, Dist. Ganjam and Sri Kasinath Panda, Peon (Retired), Aska Sub-Treasury, Dist. Ganjam have been caught by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Sri Gopal Krushna Dalabehera, Assistant Teacher, S.R. High School, Dharakote, Dist. Ganjam in order to prepare his arrear salary bill.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 21.6.2021. Accused Sri Kasinath Panda, Peon was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division in Aska Sub-Treasury office premises while accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant Sri Dalabehera as per the direction of accused Sri Mishra, Jr. Clerk. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Panda and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Panda as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Residential house of Sri Sushant Kumar Mishra, Jr. Clerk at Pital, Dist. Ganjam and house of Sri Kasinath Panda, Peon (Retd.) at Aska are being searched. They have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. case No.10 dated 20.6.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
