They say the warrior is being neglected in many ways. As many as Rs 50 lakh has been announced for the front-line fighters, as well as Rs 15 lakh for journalists. Many journalists have lost their lives in Odisha in the second wave of the corona. Many journalists have contracted the disease. “It simply came to our notice then. The Journalists’ Joint Forum paid deep tribute to the bereaved. Similarly, the Journalists’ Joint Forum reiterated its demand for the enactment of the Journalist Protection Act. Increase the welfare fund of journalists, increase health insurance to Rs 5 lakh, include the parents of journalists in health insurance or include the parents of journalists in the Biju Health Welfare Scheme. Similarly, the forum has demanded that the government be held accountable for educating their children by paying Rs 50 lakh to journalists who have died in corona.
