Cuttack,10/04/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Friday day i.e. on 9.4.2021, Sri Jaya Chandra Jal, Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS), Kanteswari Gram Panchayat under Kesinga Block, Dist-Kalahandi has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Koraput Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Sri Bijay Chandra Sahu of Village-Kurlupada, PS-Kesinga, Dist-Kalahandi in order to process the bills in favour of the complainant for payment of the purchased building materials towards construction of his cow shed.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 9.4.2021. Accused Sri Jaya Chandra Jal, GRS was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Koraput Division in his office premises while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Sri Sahu. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Jal, GRS and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Jal as well as wash of top of contacted portion of his office computer table gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His office room and house at village Kokudmal, PS-Kesinga, Dist. Kalahandi are being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. case No.11 dt.8.4.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
