Cuttack,5/4/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 5.4.2021, Sri Pranab Kishore Praharaj, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police, Madhupatna PS, Dist. Cuttack has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from complainant Sri Sanjib Kumar Behera of Tulasipur, PS. Bidanasi, Cuttack in order to settle a hand loan dispute between complainant Sri Behera and another person.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 5.4.2021. Accused Sri Pranab Kishore Praharaj, ASI was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division near Sarala Bhawan, Cuttack while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from complainant Sri Behera. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Praharaj and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Praharaj gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His residential quarter at Police colony, Cuttack is being searched. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.7 dated 5.4.2021 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988, as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
