Cuttack,31/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar)- Today i.e. on 31.03.2021, Dr. Nisith Nisank Malu, Block Public Health Officer, Community Health Centre (CHC), Phiringia, Dist. Kandhamal has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from complainant Sri Benupani Digal, Multi Purpose Health Worker (Male), CHC, Phiringia, Dist. Kandhamal for passing his RCM and TA Bills.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 31.03.2021. Accused Dr. Nisith Nisank Malu, Block Public Health Officer was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from complainant Sri Digal. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Dr. Malu and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Dr. Malu as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His residential quarter and office room at Phiringia, Dist. Kandhamal and residential house at Bhubaneswar are being searched. Dr. Malu has been arrested and forwarded to the Court. Hon’ble Court has remanded him to Judicial Custody till 13.4.2021.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. case No.7 dated 30.3.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
