Cuttack,27/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On receipt of reliable information regarding collection of huge cash by Sri Abhimanyu Panda, Tahasildar, Bangiriposi, Dist. Mayurbhanj as illegal gratification from different sources, the officers of Vigilance Balasore Division kept a close watch over the movement and activities of Sri Panda.
Accordingly, Friday i.e. on 26.3.2021, Vigilance Officers of Balasore Division intercepted him near Naharpatna junction under Sadar PS, Balasore at 5 PM, while he was proceeding from Bangiriposi to Balasore in a hired Bolero vehicle. During interception, a sum of Rs.2,56,505/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty-six Thousand Five Hundred Five) was found from the possession of Sri Panda, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No.8 dated 26.3.2021 has been registered U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 against Sri Abhimanyu Panda, Tahasildar, Bangiriposi, Dist. Mayurbhanj.
Following interception, his house at Mallikashpur, Balasore and house at native village Chuapada, PS. Baisinga, Dist. Mayurbhanj are being searched.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
