SUB-INSPECTOR OF POLICE, JAGATSINGHPUR POLICE STATION, DIST. JAGATSINGHPUR CAUGHT RED-HANDED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE.

Cuttack,23/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 23.3.2021, Sri Biswajit Gadanayak, Sub-Inspector of Police, Jagatsinghpur Police Station, Dist. Jagatsinghpur has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cell Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) from  complainant Sri Pritam Mohanty of village Kacheramala, PS-Sadar, Dist. Cuttack in order to settle the matter relating to recovery of due balance money of the complainant from his opposite party.

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 23.3.2021. Accused Sri Biswajit Gadanayak, SI was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cell Division at Kandarpur Bazar on Cuttack-Paradeep Road while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) from complainant Sri Mohanty.  The bribe money was recovered from the possession of accused Sri Gadanayak and seized in presence of witnesses.  Both hands wash of Sri Gadanayak as well as his money purse wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him.

In this connection, Vigilance Cell Division P.S. case No.1 dated 23.3.2021 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
