Cuttack,23/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 23.3.2021, Sri Manoj Kumar Nayak, Revenue Inspector (RI) and Sri Rajkishore Samantray, Asst. Collection Peon, office of RI, Siko under Begunia Tahasil, Dist. Khordha have been caught by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,300/- (Rupees One Thousand Three Hundred) from complainant Sri Trinath Chhualasingh of village Godikilo, PS-Jankia, Dist. Khordha in order to submit enquiry report to Tahasildar, Begunia in favour of the complainant in Mutation case No.752/2021.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 23.3.2021. Accused Sri Manoj Kumar Nayak, RI and Sri Rajkishore Samantray, Asst. Collection Peon were caught by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division in the office of RI, Siko while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,300/- (Rupees One Thousand Three Hundred) from complainant Sri Chhualasingh. As per the direction of RI Sri Nayak, complainant Sri Chhualasingh handed over the bribe money to Sri Samantray, Asst. Collection, Peon, who received the same and kept it on the office table of RI Sri Nayak. The bribe money was recovered from the office table of RI Sri Nayak and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Samantray as well as surface wash of office table of Sri Nayak gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money. House of Sri Nayak, RI at Badanayapalli, PS-Begunia, Dist. Khordha is being searched. Sri Manoj Kumar Nayak, Revenue Inspector (RI) and Sri Rajkishore Samantray, Asst. Collection Peon have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.11 dated 22.3.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
