RECORD ROOM IN-CHARGE, OFFICE OF COLLECTOR & DISTRICT MAGISTRATE, KANDHAMAL ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE.

Cuttack,23/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 23.3.2021, Sri Ashok Kumar Pattnaik, Record Room in-charge, office of Collector & District Magistrate, Kandhamal, Phulbani has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from  complainant Sri Lalit Kumar Sahu of village Bilaspur, PS-Manmunda, Dist. Boudh in order to  provide old land records to the complainant. 

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 23.3.2021. Accused Sri Ashok Kumar Pattnaik, Record room in-charge was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Sahu. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of accused Sri Sahu and seized in presence of witnesses.  Right hand wash of Sri Sahu as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His office room at Collectorate and government quarter at Kandhamal are being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. case No.5 dated 22.3.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
