Cuttack,04/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar)- Today i.e. on 4.3.2021, Sri Manoj Kumar Swain, Vital Statistical Clerk, Community Health Centre Katapali, Dist. Bargarh has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred) from complainant Sri Sarbeswar Bisi of village-Nandanmal, PS-Binka, Dist. Subarnapur in order to issue death certificate in respect of a relative of the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 4.3.2021. Accused Sri Manoj Kumar Swain, V.S Clerk was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred) from complainant Sri Bisi. The bribe money was recovered from the pant pocket of Sri Swain and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Swain as well as wash of his pant pocket gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. The residential house of Sri Swain at village Dang, Bargarh town is being searched. The accused Sri Swain, VS Clerk has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Sambalpur.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. case No.11 dated 3.3.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
