Cuttack, 01/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 1.3.2021, Dr. Bipin Bihari Sahoo, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO), Sub-Divisional Hospital, Rairakhol, Dist. Sambalpur has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,500/- (Rupees Five Thousand Five Hundred) from complainant Sri Soumya Ranjan Pradhan of village Rairakhol, Dist. Sambalpur for Hydrocele operation of his uncle.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 1.3.2021. Accused Dr. Bipin Bihari Sahoo, SDMO was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division in Labour Room-cum-OT complex of Sub-Divisional Hospital, Rairakhol while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,500/- (Rupees Five Thousand Five Hundred) from complainant Sri Pradhan. The bribe money was recovered from the pant pocket of Dr. Sahoo and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Dr. Sahoo as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His residential houses at Sonepur and Majhipali, Dist. Sambalpur are being searched. Dr. Bipin Bihari Sahoo, SDMO has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. case No.10 dated 28.2.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
