Cuttack, 9/2/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 9.2.2021, Sri Ajaya Kumar Sathua, Accountant, Nayagarh Municipality has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from complainant Sri Jagabandhu Sia, Sagadia Sahi, Old Town, Nayagarh in order to release security deposit in favour of the complainant in connection with a work executed earlier by the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 9.2.2021. Accused Sri Ajaya Kumar Sathua, Accountant was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from complainant Sri Sia. As per the direction of accused Sri Sathua, complainant Sri Sia kept the bribe money in the envelope handed over to him by the accused and kept the envelope on the office table of the accused. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of accused Sri Sathua and seized in presence of witnesses. His house at Itamati, Dist. Nayagarh is being searched. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.8 dated 8.2.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
