Cuttack,8/2/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 8.2.2021, Sri Amarendra Acharya, Junior Assistant, office of Executive Engineer, Rural Water Supply & Sanitation (RWS&S) has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Basanta Kumar Barik, Retired Fitter Mechanic, RWS&S Division, Balikuda, Dist. Jagatsinghpur in order to process revised final pension paper in favour of the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 8.2.2021. Accused Sri Amarendra Acharya, Junior Assistant was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Barik. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Acharya and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Acharya as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His house at native village Purana, PS-Biridi, Dist. Jagatsinghpur and office room at Jagatsinghpur are being searched. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.3 dated 8.2.2021 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
