Cuttack,3/2/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 3.2.2021, Smt. Bharati Nayak, Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS), Ramalenka Gram Panchayat under Krushnaprasad Block, Dist- Puri has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant Sri Mithuna Behera of Village- Patanasi, PS- Krushnaprasad, Dist- Puri in order to process the bill for payment in favour of the complainant for a work executed under MGNREGA Scheme.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 3.2.2021. Accused Smt. Bharati Nayak, GRS was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division in her office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant Sir Behera. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Smt. Nayak, GRS and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Smt. Nayak as well as wash of her vanity bag gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her. She has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.7 dt.2.2.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
