  HOUSE SEARCH OF SUB-INSPECTOR OF EXCISE, BELPAHAR EXCISE SECTION, DIST. JHARSUGUDA.

Cuttack,01/02/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Debendra Kumar Praharaj, Sub-Inspector of Excise, Belpahar Excise Section, Dist. Jharsuguda, his (1) residential building at Budharaja, Dist. Sambalpur, (2) house of relative at Govindatala, Dist. Sambalpur, (3) office room of Sri Praharaj at Belpahar Excise Section, Jharsuguda and office room of his spouse in the office of Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Northern Division, Sambalpur were searched simultaneously today i.e. on 1.2.2021 by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

In course of search and inventory, Sri Debendra Kumar Praharaj, Sub-Inspector of Excise has been found in possession of assets worth Rs.1,20,56,655/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Lakhs Fifty-six Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-five) including one double-storied building, three numbers of plots, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different Banks, investment in Insurance policies, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles.

 During house search, the following movable and immovable assets have been so far unearthed from the possession of Sri Praharaj and his family members.

1. One double-storied building at Sambalpur Rs.        56,56,178/-
2. Three numbers of plots at Cuttack and Sambalpur Rs.          5,89,838/-
3. Advance paid for purchase of land and construction of house Rs.        20,00,000/-
4. Two numbers of two wheelers (Honda Activa & Hero Pleasure) Rs.           1,19,400/-
5. Deposits in different Banks Rs.        23,98,289/-
6. Investment in Insurance policies Rs.          2,60,450/-
7. Gold and silver ornaments Rs          6,40,372/-
8. Cash Rs.             13,575/-
9. Household articles Rs.          3,78,553/-
  Total Rs.  1,20,56,655/-

Thus, the total assets unearthed so far from the possession of Sri Debendra Kumar Praharaj, Sub-Inspector of Excise and his family members have been calculated as  Rs.1,20,56,655/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Lakhs Fifty-six Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-five).
