Cuttack, 28/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Sri Satyaban Giri, ASI of Police, Jharadihi Police Out-post under Tiringi Police Station. Dist. Mayurbhanj has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand) from complainant Sri Tambray Beshra of village Jashipur, PS-Tiringi, Dist. Mayurbhanj for not to harass him (complainant) for selling Liquor.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 27.1.2021. Accused Sri Satyaban Giri, ASI was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand) from complainant Sri Beshra. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Giri and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Giri as well as his shirt pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His house at native village Raidiha, PS-Raruan, Dist. Mayurbhanj and his rest room and office at Jharadihi Out-post are being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. case No.4 dt.27.1.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
