Cuttack,19/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar ) – Monday i.e. on 18.1.2021, Smt. Minati Rath, In-charge Principal, Panchayat Samiti Higher Secondary School, Bangomunda, Dist. Bolangir has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand) from complainant Sri Dolamani Meher, Assistant Librarian of the said School for not suspending him from service.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 18.1.2021. Accused Smt. Minati Rath, In-charge Principal was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand) from complainant Sri Meher. Accused Smt. Rath directed the complainant to keep the bribe money on her drawing table. The bribe money was recovered from the drawing table of Smt. Rath and seized in presence of witnesses. Wash of contacted portion of table cloth gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance of bribe money by her. Residential house of Smt. Rath at Jhankarpada, PS-Bangopada, Dist. Bolangir is being searched. Smt. Minati Rath, In-charge Principal, Panchayat Samiti Higher Secondary School, Bangomunda, Dist. Bolangir has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. case No.2 dt.17.1.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
