Cuttack,19/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar ) – Monday i.e. on 18.1.2021, Sri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, Ex-Geo Tag Youth (Private person) of Bolagarh Block, Dist. Khordha has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand) from complainant Sri Bikash Kumar Swain of village-Khanguria, PS-Bolagarh, Dist. Khordha in order to influence the GPEO, Bolagarh Block, Dist. Khordha for processing file for marriage registration certificates in favour of the cousins of the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 18.1.2021. Accused Sri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, Ex-Geo Tag Youth was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division inside the room of the GPEO, Bolagarh Block while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand) from complainant Sri Swain. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Mohapatra and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Mohapatra gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Sri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.3 dt.15.1.2021 U/s 7A PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
