ADDITIONAL TAHASILDAR, SADAR, DHENKANAL ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE.

Cuttack,19/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 19.1.2021, Sri Laxman Dalei, Additional Tahasildar, office of Tahasildar, Sadar, Dist. Dhenkanal has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from  complainant Sri Dillip Senapati of village-Sadeibereni, PS-Sadar, Dist. Dhenkanal for not harassing the complainant during transportation of laterite stone.

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 19.1.2021. Accused Sri Laxman Dalei, Additional Tahasildar was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from complainant Sri Senapati. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Dalei and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Dalei gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him.  Rented house of Sri Dalei at Dhenkanal and house at native village Mangarajpur, PS-Badamba, Dist. Cuttack are being searched. Sri Laxman Dalei, Additional Tahasildar, Dist. Dhenkanal has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.1 dt.18.1.2021 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
