Cuttack,13/1/2021 ( Odisha Samachar Dipti Ranjan Kanungo) – Today i.e. on 13.1.2021, Sri Lalit Kumar Behera, ASI of Police, Banigochha Police Station, Dist. Nayagarh has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Susanta Muduli of village Kulakumpa, PS-Banigochha, Dist. Nayagarh in order to release the tractor of the complainant seized earlier in connection with Banigochha PS case No. 34/2020 registered against the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 13.1.2021. Accused Sri Lalit Kumar Behera, ASI was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Muduli. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Behera, ASI and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Behera, ASI gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Rented house of Sri Behera, ASI at Banigochha and house at native village Phulbani sahi, Dist. Kandhamal are being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.2 dt.12.1.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
