Cuttack,7/1/2021 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 7.1.2021, Sri Hemanta Kumar Padhiari, Gram Rozagar Sevak (GRS), Durgadevi Gram Panchayat under Remuna Block, Dist- Balasore has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant Sri Purna Chandra Bindhani of Village Dharapaikali under Durgadevi Gram Panchayat in order to submit completion certificate towards completion of house under Bijju Pucca Ghar Yojana(BPGY) in respect of father of the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 7.1.2021. Accused Sri Hemanta Kumar Padhiari, Gram Rozagar Sevak was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant Sri Bindhani. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Padhiari and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Padhiary as well as his pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His residential house at Badapal, PS-Remuna, Dist-Balasore is being searched. Sri Hemanta Kumar Padhiari, Gram Rozagar Sevak has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. case No.2 dt.6.1.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
