Cuttack, 31/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 31.12.2020, Sri Ashok Kumar Mishra, Executive Officer, Sundargarh Municipality, Dist. Sundargarh has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Rourkela Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from complainant Sk. Sahid Haq of Jharsuguda town in order to release his pending bills towards supply of dress materials to the employees of said Municipality during the year, 2017.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 31.12.2020. Accused Sri Ashok Kumar Mishra, Executive Officer was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Rourkela Division in his office room while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from complainant Sk. Sahid Haq. The bribe money has been recovered from the possession of Sri Mishra and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Mishra as well as his money purse wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His office room and government quarter at Sundargarh are being searched. Sri Mishra has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. case No.9 dt.30.12.2020 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
