Cuttack,30/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 30.12.2020, Sri Raghunath Panda, Peon-cum-Packer, office of the Drugs Inspector, Jajpur Road, Dist. Jajpur has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand) from complainant Sri Santosh Kumar Sahu of village Kusupur, PS-Mahanga, Dist. Cuttack in order to process and issue Annual Inspection Report in favour of the complainant .
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 30.12.2020. Accused Sri Raghunath Panda, Peon-cum-packer was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division inside office room of the Drugs Inspector, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand) from complainant Sri Sahu. Accused Sri Panda directed the complainant to keep the bribe money in a file kept on the office table. The bribe money was recovered and seized in presence of witnesses. Wash of the contacted portion of the said file gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance of bribe money by the accused. The house of accused Sri Panda at Bishnupur, PS-Dhamnagar, Dist. Bhadrak is being searched. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.26 dt.29.12.2020 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
