Cuttack,23/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )-On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Smt. Namita Dalai, Anganawadi Worker, Mangalbaram Petta-II, Ganesh Nagar, Old Berhampur, Dist. Ganjam, her 1) triple-storied residential building at Berhampur, 2) double-storied building at Berhampur, 3) two single-storied buildings at Berhampur, 4) 2BHK flat at Goutam Nagar, Bhubaneswar, 5) flat at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar, and 6) office room at Anganawadi Centre, Ganesh Nagar, Berhampur were simultaneously searched on 22.12.2020 by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.

In course of search and inventory, Smt. Namita Dalai, Anganawadi Worker was found in possession of assets worth Rs.2,25,96,647/- (Rupees two Crores Twenty-five Lakhs Ninety-six Thousand Six Hundred Forty-seven) including one triple-storied building, one double-storied building, two numbers of single-storied buildings, two numbers of flats, one plot, one four wheeler, one motor cycle, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles.

After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Smt. Dalai was calculated and she was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.2,20,46,585/- (Rupees Two Crores Twenty Lakhs Forty-six Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-five).

As Smt. Namita Dalai, Anganawadi Worker, Mangalbaram Petta-II, Ganesh Nagar, Old Berhampur, Dist. Ganjam was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which she could not account for satisfactorily, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.25 dt.23.12.2020 was registered against Smt. Dalai U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 23.12.2020, Smt. Dalai has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur. The Hon’ble Court has remanded her to jail custody till 4.1.2021.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
