Cuttack,18/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On receipt of reliable information regarding collection of huge cash by Sri Pramod Kumar Pradhan, Assistant Engineer, ITDA, Nabarangpur as illegal gratification from different sources, the officers of Koraput Division kept a watch over the movement and activity of Sri Pradhan.
On 17.12.2020, Vigilance Officers of Koraput, Division intercepted him at 2.30 PM near deer park, Papadahandi while he was proceeding from Nabarangpur to Papadahandi in a Bolero vehicle. During interception, a sum of Rs.3,09,490/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Nine Thousand Four Hundred Ninety) was found from the possession of Sri Pradhan, AE, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S case No. 28 dt. 18.12.2020 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) P. C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Pramod Kumar Pradhan, AE. Today i.e. on 18.12.2020, he has been arrested and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. The Hon’ble Court has remanded him to judicial custody till 23.12.2020. The Bolero vehicle in which he was proceeding towards papdahandi has also been seized
Following interception, his native house at Sikharpur, Dist. Cuttack and rented house at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar are being searched simultaneously.
