Cuttack,17/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Pramod Kumar Panigrahi, Head-Master, Panchayat High School, Ganthiapali, Dist. Bargarh, his 1) two numbers of double-storied residential buildings at Tileimal, PS-Barpali, Dist. Bargarh, 2) single-storied building at Kapileswar Nagar, PS-Barpali, Dist. Bargarh, 3) triple-storied building at Dunguripali, Dist. Subarnapur, and 4) office room at Panchayat High School, Ganthiapali, PS-Bijepur, Dist. Bargarh were simultaneously searched on 16.12.2020 by the officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
In course of search and inventory, Sri Pramod Kumar Panigrahi, Head Master was found in possession of assets worth Rs.4,26,44,396/- (Rupees Four Crores Twenty-six Lakhs Forty-four Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-six) including one triple-storied building, two numbers of double-storied buildings, one single-storied building, twelve numbers of plots, one four wheeler, one tractor, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different banks, investment in various insurance policies, gold ornaments, cash of over 19 Lakhs and household articles.
After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Panigrahi was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.3,59,16,872/- (Rupees Three Crores Fifty-nine Lakhs Sixteen Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-two) which constitutes 338% of his known sources of income.
As Sri Pramod Kumar Panigrahi, Head-Master, Panchayat High School, Ganthiapali, Dist. Bargarh was found in possession of disproportionate assets which he could not account for satisfactorily, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.36 dt.17.12.2020 was registered against Sri Panigrahi U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 17.12.2020, Sri Panigrahi has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
