BLOCK VETERINARY OFFICER, PIPILI, DIST. PURI ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE.

Cuttack,9/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 9.12.2020, Dr. Suresh Chandra Behera,  Block Veterinary Officer, Pipili, Dist. Puri has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred) from complainant Sri Pratap Chandra Khatoi of village Basupur, PS-Pipili, Dist. Puri in order to release Rs.70,000/- in favour of the complainant towards damage of his poultry farm.

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 9.12.2020. Accused Dr. Suresh Chandra Behera,  Block Veterinary Officer was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division  while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred) from complainant Sri Khatoi. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Dr. Behera and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Dr. Behera as well as his shirt pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him.  His house at Balakati, Dist. Khordha is being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.38 dt.9.12.2020 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
