Equally, the<br \/>\nnumber of parcels that DHL eCommerce Solutions has been processing monthly in Malaysia<br \/>\nhas doubled to approximately 90,000 pieces per day from a year ago and is set<br \/>\nto double again to approximately 200,000 pieces per day once the central hub<br \/>\nfacility in Puchong is automated in the first quarter of 2021. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/110761\/DHL-eCommerce.jpg#image-110761\" width=\"500\"\/><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">The number of parcels that DHL eCommerce Solutions has been processing monthly in Malaysia has doubled from a year ago and is set to double again in the first quarter of 2021.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Malaysia&#8217;s<br \/>\ne-commerce sector is expected to grow at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldata.com\/covid-19-accelerates-e-commerce-growth-malaysia-says-globaldata\/#:~:text=According%20to%20GlobalData's%20E%2DCommerce,14.3%25%20between%202020%20and%202024.\">24.7%<\/a><br \/>\nin 2020 and will reach US$12.6 billion by 2024. This growth will only<br \/>\naccelerate post-pandemic as businesses, small and large, move and scale online,<br \/>\nand online shopping becomes increasingly second-nature to consumers,&#8221; said<br \/>\nKiattichai Pitpreecha, CEO of DHL eCommerce Solutions Southeast Asia. &#8220;We&#8217;re bolstering<br \/>\nour network of depots across the country and investing in automation and<br \/>\ndigitalization to increase capacity, enhance efficiency and provide a seamless<br \/>\ncustomer experience.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DHL<br \/>\neCommerce Solutions currently has 45 depots across Malaysia, which serve as<br \/>\nconsolidation and distribution centers for the surrounding community. The<br \/>\ncompany added five new depots in 2020 and will be opening another 12 depots<br \/>\nover the next six months. To strengthen its last-mile services in Malaysia, DHL<br \/>\neCommerce Solutions has also grown its retail service points to over 450 and<br \/>\nwill soon be introducing a retail app for consumers to book, track and find<br \/>\nshipments, and deploying a chat-bot to facilitate inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anil<br \/>\nGautam, Managing Director of DHL eCommerce Solutions Malaysia added, &#8220;To deal<br \/>\nwith the changing market dynamics and keep pace with the expansion, we are<br \/>\nactively recruiting with plans to increase our workforce by more than 60% by<br \/>\nend 2021. We see massive opportunities in the Klang Valley region but are<br \/>\nequally witnessing heightened activities in East Malaysia as online spending<br \/>\nincreases.
