The meeting was held here on 2<sup>nd<\/sup> April 2026, marked a significant step forward in strengthening the institutional vision of NCDS and concluded with a forward-looking consensus to transform the Centre into a globally recognised institution of excellence rooted in Odisha\u2019s developmental priorities.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56836 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-1-300x155.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-1-300x155.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-1.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting witnessed the presence of eminent members from academia, government, and policy institutions. Among those present were Shri Prakash Ch. Mohanty, OAS (SAG), Director, NCDS (Convener &amp; Secretary of the Board); Prof. JagneshwarDandpat, Vice-Chancellor, Utkal University; Prof. BidhuBhusan Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Sambalpur University; Prof. Uday Shankar Mishra, International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai; Prof. Navaneeta Rath, Former Professor, Utkal University; Prof. Sanghamitra Sheel Acharya, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Prof. Umakant Dash, Vice-Chancellor, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune; Dr. Nitin Kumar, ICSSR, Ministry of Education, Government of India; Shri Sambit Tripathy, CMD, Livelihood Alternative, Bhubaneswar; and Shri Prashant Kumar Mishra (OFS), Finance Department representative, along with distinguished faculty members of NCDS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56837 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-2-300x161.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-2-300x161.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-2-310x165.jpeg 310w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NCDS-2.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The Board engaged in substantive deliberations on strengthening the institutional framework, enhancing the quality and impact of research, and expanding collaborative partnerships with leading national and international institutions. Special emphasis was placed on promoting interdisciplinary and policy-oriented research aligned with Odisha\u2019s developmental priorities, particularly in the domains of social inclusion, gender equity, livelihood enhancement, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The BoG also placed on record its appreciation for the proactive and visionary initiatives undertaken by the Government of Odisha under the leadership of the Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister.
