Today, these important water bodies are disappearing due to pollution and construction. To save our environment, it is very important that young people understand why we need to protect them.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56179 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-1-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-1.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-weight: normal;\">To mark World Wetlands Day, the Hirakud Wildlife Division and Story4Change (NGO) organized a special program at Sambalpur Zoo. The event was supported by Ansu Pragyan Das (DFO, Hirakud Wildlife Division). Around 45 students from 6 different colleges in Sambalpur took part in the event.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-weight: normal;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56180 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-2-300x155.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-2-300x155.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/S-2.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The session was facilitated by Sachidananda Mishra, the founder of Story4Change. During the program, Binay Prakash Burh, the Ranger of Sambalpur Zoo, talked to the students about why wetlands are important for animals and humans.
