This alternative pathway provides a more intimate learning environment with smaller cohorts, fostering closer faculty and peer interaction. Additionally, students’ study period will be aligned with the global academic calendar, offering crucial preparation time for residency applications and the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).

SGU offers multiple programs and tracks catering to students’ educational backgrounds, including the four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and five-, six-, or seven-year MD tracks. Graduates are eligible to apply for licensure in various countries, subject to local requirements, and gain clinical experience through a wide network of more than
75 affiliated sites in the US and UK. Financial aid and scholarships, such as academic merit-based and community-focused awards, are available for qualified South Korean applicants, supporting students from diverse backgrounds in pursuing their education.

SGU also provides tremendous support to their international student communities with diverse entry points. The Grenada campus has intakes in January, April, and August. Moreover, through a partnership with Northumbria University in the United Kingdom, students can also choose to start their medical studies in September or January. This flexibility allows students to choose the starting location that best suits their academic and personal goals while remaining connected to SGU’s global community.

“Our January intake gives students the flexibility to start their medical education earlier and take advantage of the same curriculum, global community, and support that SGU is known for,” said David Anthonisz, Vice President, International Student Recruitment at SGU. “Whether beginning in Grenada or the United Kingdom, South Korean students can prepare themselves for rewarding careers in healthcare worldwide.”

Interested students can learn more about the January 2026 intake and apply through SGU’s official website
here.

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

Source link

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Media OutReach Newswire – 5 November 2025 – St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, has officially opened applications for its January 2026 intake, offering aspiring medical students from South Korea the opportunity to pursue an international medical education and begin their journey sooner.
