The two-day event aims to empower artisans, promote India\u2019s craft economy, and strengthen the handloom and handicraft sectors through knowledge sharing, innovation, market linkages, and collaboration among states.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-54018 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-1-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-1.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inaugurating the conference, Sri Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, Odisha, highlighted India\u2019s illustrious textile legacy and called for sustained efforts to foster innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth among artisan communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the inaugural session, Smt. Veena Kumari Meena, DC (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, and Ms. Amrit Raj, DC (Handcrafts), Ministry of Textiles, emphasized India\u2019s vision to strengthen its traditional craft sectors, enhance artisan livelihoods, and position Indian handlooms and handicrafts as global symbols of sustainability and inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Delivering the welcome address, Smt. Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles &amp; Handicrafts Department, Government of Odisha, reaffirmed the state government\u2019s commitment to empowering weavers and artisans through initiatives that blend tradition with technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the inauguration, a series of thematic sessions showcased best practices from various states, focusing on key areas such as market linkages, cluster development, infrastructure, welfare, skill enhancement, and raw material supply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-54019 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-2-300x195.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-2-300x195.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/H-2.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first session, \u201cMarket Connect: Expanding Reach, Building Brands,\u201d featured presentations from Assam, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, highlighting state-led initiatives that enhance market access and global visibility for local artisans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Subsequent sessions will delve into cluster-based development (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka), infrastructure and craft villages (Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Nagaland), and welfare and skill development programmes (Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh).
