ASSISTANCE OF RS.2.5 LAKHS UNDER &#8220;SUMANGAL SCHEME&#8221; FOR INTER CASTE MARRIAGE."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuttack,22\/9\/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 22.09.2025, Sri Biswaranjan Pradhan, Office Assistant-cum-Data Entry Operator, Welfare Section of Simulia Block, Dist-Balasorehasbeen <strong>apprehended<\/strong> by Odisha Vigilance <strong>for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of<\/strong><strong>Rs.5,000\/-<\/strong><strong>(Rupees Five Thousand)<\/strong>of overall demand of bribe Rs.10,000\/- from a complainant <strong>for processing his application for grant of Govt. Assistance of Rs.2.5 lakhs under &#8220;Sumangal&#8221; scheme (for inter caste marriage) for marrying an SC girl on 31.03.2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-854 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Vigilance-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"297\" height=\"170\" \/>For last 6 months, Complt. had been requesting accused Sri Pradhan to process his file for getting the benefit under Sumangal Scheme. But, accused Sri Pradhan demanded bribe Rs.10,000\/- to process his file. When Complt. expressed inability to pay the demanded bribe, Sri Pradhan reduced the bribe amount to Rs.5,000\/-. Finding no other means, Complt. alleged before Vigilance authorities narrating harassment by Sri Pradhan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 22.09.2025, wherein the accused Sri Biswaranjan Pradhan, Data Entry Operatorwas<strong>nabbed<\/strong> by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office roomfor demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of <strong>Rs.5,000\/-<\/strong><strong>(Rupees Five Thousand)<\/strong>from the complainant.The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from the possession of Sri Pradhanin presence of witnesses.Following the trap, <strong>simultaneous <\/strong><strong>searches have been launched <\/strong>on the residential Govt. quarter of Sri Pradhanat Simulia and hisoffice room. <strong>Accused <\/strong><strong>Sri <\/strong><strong>Biswaranjan Pradhan, Data Entry Operator<\/strong><strong> has<\/strong><strong> been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No.12 dated 21.09.2025 U\/s 7Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuttack,22\/9\/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 22.09.2025, Sri Biswaranjan Pradhan, Office Assistant-cum-Data Entry Operator, Welfare Section of Simulia Block, Dist-Balasorehasbeen apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) ofRs.5,000\/-(Rupees Five Thousand)of overall demand of bribe Rs.10,000\/- from a complainant for processing his application for grant of Govt.
