FUNDS OVER RS.5.68 LAKHS MEANT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO SENIOR CITIZENS AS OLD AGE PENSION. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>SRI ASWINI KUMAR PANDA, OAS (2019), TAHASILDAR, BAMRA, DIST- SAMBALPUR ARRESTED <\/strong><strong>BY ODISHA VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE<\/strong><strong>15,000\/- FOR CONVERSION OF AGRICULTURAL LAND TO HOMESTEAD LAND IN A MUTATION CASE.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>FURTHER, CASH RS.4.73 LAKHS <\/strong><strong>RECOVERED AND SEIZED. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuttack, 12\/9\/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 12.09.2025, Sri Aswini Kumar Panda, OAS, Tahasildar, Bamra, Dist-Sambalpur has been <strong>apprehended<\/strong> by Odisha Vigilance <strong>for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of<\/strong><strong>Rs.15,000\/-(Rupees Fifteen Thousand)from the Complainant for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land in a mutation case.<\/strong> For about a month, the complt. had been requesting Sri Panda, Tahasildar for conversion of agricultural land. But, Sri Panda demanded bribe Rs.20,000\/- to allow conversion and issue of RoRs in favour of complt. When the complt. expressed his inability to pay such a huge amount as bribe, Sri Panda, Tahasildar reduced the bribe amount to Rs.15,000\/- and threatened to not allow the conversion in mutation case otherwise. Left with no other option, the complt. approached the Vigilance authorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-52722 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Tahasildar-284x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Tahasildar-284x300.jpg 284w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Tahasildar.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 192px) 100vw, 192px\" \/>Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 12.09.2025, wherein the accused Sri Aswini Kumar Panda, OAS, Tahasildar was<strong>nabbed<\/strong> by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office room for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of <strong>Rs.15,000\/-(Rupees Fifteen Thousand) <\/strong>from the complainant through his office driver Sri P. Praveen Kumar. The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from them. Following the trap, <strong>simultaneous searches have been launched<\/strong> on the residential building of Sri Panda at May-Fair road, Bhubaneswar where family of Tahasildar are staying, PWD, IB at Bamra (where Tahasildar is staying) and his office chamber. During searches, <strong>cash Rs.4,73,000\/-<\/strong> was recovered from his residential building at May-Fair road, Bhubaneswar and seized. <strong>Both the accused persons namely Sri Aswini Kumar Panda, OAS, Tahasildar<\/strong><strong> and Sri P. Praveen Kumar, Driver were arrested and forwarded to the Court.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.17 dated 11.09.2025 U\/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Sri Aswini Kumar Panda, OAS, (DOB- 13.07.1992) topped in Odisha Civil Services in 2019 and entered into Govt. service as Training Reserve Officer (TRO) in OAS-I (JB) on 30.12.2021 in the O\/o Collector, Balasore. Then he joined as Tahasildar, Shamakhunta, Dist.Mayurbhanj on 01.06.2023 and continued there.
