Bhubaneswar,17\/07\/2025(Odisha Samachar\/Rajat Mohapatra)–The two-day National Conference on Good Governance Practices commenced today at the Convention Centre of Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, jointly inaugurated the conference, setting the tone for collaborative, technology-enabled governance.\"\"<\/p>\n

In his keynote address, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted Odisha\u2019s strides in administrative transformation, from paperless budgeting to digital grievance redressal mechanisms. \u201cOdisha is proud to contribute not just as a host but as an active partner in India\u2019s journey towards responsive and transparent governance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister cited flagship initiatives like the Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System (OSWAS) and the innovative \u2018Work Passbook\u2019 as models of increased transparency, efficiency, and citizen engagement. He called for a shift from \u201cbureaucracy to responsiveness, from files to data, and from compliance to outcomes.\u201d\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cThis conference is not just an event\u2014it\u2019s an opportunity to shape the future of Indian governance. Let it be a milestone on our path toward a New India that is efficient, equitable, and empathetic,\u201d CM Majhi added, aligning the vision with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s mission of a Vikshit Bharat by 2047.<\/p>\n

The inaugural session also featured an address by Shri Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of General Administration & Public Grievance, Government of Odisha. Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, delivered the vote of thanks. The meeting witnessed the presence of ministers, senior bureaucrats, and top-ranking officers of various states.<\/p>\n
