{"id":31483,"date":"2023-05-01T14:00:45","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T14:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/?p=31483"},"modified":"2023-05-01T14:00:45","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T14:00:45","slug":"kims-hosts-ent-surgeons-annual-conference-aoibbcon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/2023\/05\/01\/kims-hosts-ent-surgeons-annual-conference-aoibbcon\/","title":{"rendered":"KIMS hosts ENT surgeons&#8217; annual conference AOIBBCON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Bhubaneswar, 1\/5\/2023 ( Odisha Samachar )-<\/span><span lang=\"OR\">: <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">The three-day long annual conference of Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of India Bhubaneswar Branch Conference (AOIBBCON) ended with two external faculties displaying live surgeries for the participating ENT surgeons and post-graduate students at Kalinga Institute of Medical Science (KIMS).<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-31484 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/KIMS-300x114.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/KIMS-300x114.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/KIMS.jpeg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">While Dr Umanatha Nayak from Apollo Hospital Hyderabad and Dr Deepak Sarin from Medanta Medicity from Gurugram joined the conference as external faculties, Dr C Preetam from AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Dr Khageswar Rout from KIMS Bhubaneswar displayed their skills for the benefit of the <\/span><span lang=\"OR\">150<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> participants from all across India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Secretary of AOIBBCON and well-known ENT surgeon Dr Kabikanta Samantray said &#8220;the interesting part of the three-day conference was that apart from the experts having demonstration surgeries, young Otorhinolaryngologists (ENT surgeons) were also encouraged to discuss and share their ideas and work done by them during the conference.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">The AOIBBCON <\/span><span lang=\"OR\">2023<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> is the <\/span><span lang=\"OR\">7<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">th event in a row and it&#8217;s annually held in Temple City at a corporate hospital or medical college. The theme of this year was &#8220;Basic to advance ENT &#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Among the demonstration surgeries done today, Thyroidectomy (involving thyroid gland), Parotidectomy (involving parotid gland), Cochlear implant and Inverted Papilloma (removal of nasal mass) were carried out. During the Cochlear implant surgery a deaf and dumb baby girl was given the implant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">On the Day-<\/span><span lang=\"OR\">1 (<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Friday) a workshop on cadaveric dissection on temporal bone and functional endoscopic sinus surgery was conducted in association with the Department of Anatomy, KIMS.
