On getting information regarding the movement of the criminal towards Bhubaneswar, a police team led by the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Kharvelanagar police station and other officers intercepted Palei near Tankapani road. However, the criminal managed to escape via an earthen road.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Later, the police team chased Palei and intercepted him near Bankual Kuakhai river embankment. As the criminal started firing at the police team, the senior officers also retaliated. In the process, the criminal sustained a bullet injury on his left \u00a0leg and \u00a0\u00a0admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
