Case No.38 dtd.17.07.2008 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d)\/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification (bribe) from the complainant for issuance of \u201cJanani Surakhya Certificate\u201d in favour of complainant\u2019s wife to get Govt. incentive under \u201cJanani Surakhya Scheme\u201d was convicted by the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/-(Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s 13 (2) r\/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988. The Hon\u2019ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently. <strong>Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Dr. Sahoo following his conviction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Parameswar Kishan, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Sambalpur Division, A\/p-Addl. SP, Vigilance had investigated the case and Sri Gouramohan Dash, I\/c Spl.
