In light of the fifth wave of<br \/>\nCOVID-19 currently sweeping through Hong Kong and the government&#8217;s upcoming<br \/>\nintroduction of a &#8216;vaccine pass&#8217;, FWD has extended this free vaccination<br \/>\nprotection that was originally introduced last year to reinforce protection. The<br \/>\nprotection is applicable to eligible customers<sup>1<\/sup><br \/>\nof FWD life individual insurance plans in the event of covered adverse<br \/>\nreactions arising from designated vaccinations<sup>2<\/sup> during the coverage<br \/>\nperiod, for free and with no registration required.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kelvin Yu<\/b>,<b> <\/b>Chief Product Officer for FWD Hong Kong &amp; Macau<br \/>\nsaid, &#8220;We always strive to stay apprised of market developments and our community&#8217;s<br \/>\nneeds to offer the best-suited protection in a flexible and timely manner. We&#8217;re<br \/>\nextending the coverage period of the free vaccination protection to support our<br \/>\ncommunity&#8217;s fight against the pandemic. We&#8217;ll continue to monitor the situation<br \/>\nand adjust our strategy to provide &#8216;better coverage and more comprehensive<br \/>\nprotection&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If eligible customers suffer from covered<br \/>\nadverse reactions arising from<br \/>\ndesignated vaccinations during the coverage period, they will receive the free vaccination protection including:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Hospital<br \/>\nCash Benefit:<\/b> A<br \/>\nmaximum of HK$15,000 (HK$1,000 per day, limited to one stay, up to 15 days) will be payable if the insured customer is admitted<br \/>\nto the hospital in Hong Kong or Macau within 14 days as a result of a covered<br \/>\nvaccination adverse reaction.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Compassionate<br \/>\nDeath Benefit:<\/b> A<br \/>\ntotal of HK$250,000 will be payable if the customer passes away in Hong Kong or<br \/>\nMacau due to a covered vaccination adverse reaction or complications within 30<br \/>\ndays after diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Pre-hospitalisation<br \/>\nOutpatient Benefit:<\/b> HK$300<br \/>\n(up to one time) will be payable if the insured customer consults a registered medical<br \/>\npractitioner in Hong Kong or Macau on an out-patient basis due to a covered<br \/>\nvaccination adverse reaction, provided that the consultation happens within 14<br \/>\ndays prior to hospital confinement.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Terms and conditions apply.
