\nJanuary 2022 – SOCAM Development Limited (HKEX
\n983)”SOCAM”) and viAct are pleased to announce the signing of the
\nMemorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalise the collaboration in adapting
\nconstruction technologies to improve site safety, while promoting ‘Construction
\n2.0’ among Hong Kong construction industry. <\/p>\n

\ndevelop innovative construction technologies for site safety and to promote
\nConstruction 2.0.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the
\nrecent years, the HKSAR Government has extensively promoted digitalisation in
\nthe construction industry and encouraged developers and contractors to
\nadopt\u00a0 construction technologies from
\narchitectural planning to site management, in order to strengthen construction
\nmonitoring and improve safety. The recent initiative ‘Construction 2.0’
\nannounced by the HKSAR Government set the directions on construction
\ntransformation in achieving innovation, professionalisation and revitalisation.
\nMeanwhile, the ‘Construction Innovation and Technology Fund’ (CITF),
\nestablished by the HKSAR Development Bureau (DEVB) and the Construction
\nIndustry Council (CIC) in 2018, has provided support and subsidy to the
\nindustry to adopt technologies in different construction areas.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In response to the construction industry
\nblueprint led by the HKSAR Government, SOCAM and viAct will collaborate and
\nadopt Artificial Intelligence in construction site monitoring and actively
\napply construction digitalisation to improve productivity, construction safety
\nand develop green construction projects. Key collaboration areas include
\nimplementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and tactics
\nby integrating and adopting technologies to build a human-and-social oriented
\nstrategic investment framework – bringing ESG considerations into the corporate
\ndecision-making model.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The holistic collaboration will combine the
\nrich construction experience from SOCAM and construction-based and
\ncomputer-vision cloud technology from viAct to utilise the application of
\nconstruction data, which has been overlooked by the whole industry. The
\nnew-built system converts the raw data to insightful information, providing
\nstrategic directions on productivity, construction safety and environmental
\nprotection for all management levels to enhance the effectiveness and
\nefficiency of the decision-making process. In addition, the close collaboration
\ndemonstrates the potential of in-depth industrial transformation to the whole
\nconstruction industry.<\/p>\n
