Case No.39 dated 5.11.2009 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d)\/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.1,000\/- (Rupees One Thousand) from a complainant for forwarding the annual recommendation for renewal of the services of his wife as Junior Clerk in a private school at Karnoli, Dist-Ganjam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today i.e. on 24.12.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur convicted Sri Padhy, Ex-Senior Clerk (retired) and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 months for the offence U\/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Hon\u2019ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/-(Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 months for the offence U\/s 13(1)(d) r\/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri B.M. Pradhan, Ex-Inspector Vigilance, Berhampur Division had investigated the case and Sri P.K. Dora, Addl. Spl.
