Media OutReach<\/a>\u00a0– 6 December 2021 –\u00a0Sherdar Australia Bio Refinery Pty Ltd,
\nan Australian-based company, today announced plans to develop a renewable
\ndiesel processing and storage facility in the country. When in full operation,
\nthe facility aims to produce 500,000 tonnes per annum of renewable fuels with
\nlower carbon emissions than conventional fossil fuels. This will position
\nAustralia as one of the major renewable fuel producers and exporters in the
\nworld, which is in support of Australia Government Policy to forge a
\nsustainable future.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
While the exact location has yet to be
\nannounced, the facility will cover more than 20 hectares in land size and will
\nbe located close to adequate port infrastructure, as the primary countries for
\nexporting renewable diesel will be the United States and Europe to meet the
\nrising demand of renewable fuels in both regions. Sherdar is currently in the
\nfinal stages of engineering governmental discussions and receiving relevant
\napprovals for the project.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of the considerations in mind in
\ndetermining the eventual site were availability of supporting infrastructure
\nand sufficient qualified local workforce. This project, estimated to cost 600
\nmillion USD, will be looking to hire 120 people for plant operations and will create
\njob opportunities for more than 600 people including raw materials suppliers
\nand those working in logistics.<\/p>\n

The facility will adopt the Shell
\nRenewable Refining Process that can input a wide range of animal fat, seed oil
\nand waste greases as feedstock to produce high quality renewable fuels. This
\nadvanced technology can process 100% biofeeds into profitable renewable diesel
\nand sustainable aviation fuel with Shell’s hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO)
\ntechnology.<\/p>\n

\nMinerals Ltd (one of the main project lead drivers) says of the project, “We

\nenvironment, with Australia as our preferred site location. With the support of
