\nservices headquartered in Singapore, has won a contract with Bahrain
\nCustoms Affairs (BCA) to implement OFOQ2 \u2013 the Kingdom’s next-generation
\nnational Single Window.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nimplementation is a move in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strategy to focus
\non the logistic services sector, as part of the priorities and programmes of
\nthe Economic Recovery Plan. \u00a0The move
\nwill further support the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa,
\nfollowing the project’s approval by the Cabinet chaired by His Royal Highness
\nPrince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with
\nthe aim to develop the economy and create promising opportunities for citizens
\nto improve the competitiveness of the Kingdom of Bahrain and attract further
\ninvestments.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
\nsigning ceremony was presided by the President of Bahrain Customs, His Excellency
\nShaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa who signed the contract with the
\nSingapore-based company (CrimsonLogic) recently.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
\nsystem is an advance e-portal that integrates the digital exchange of data
\nbetween different e-systems within the trade community (ships, cargo and
\ncustoms clearance agents, and product owners) and streamlines the various
\ngovernment procedures.\u00a0 This includes specialised
\nmodules such as the Customs value, Customs Exemption System, Customs
\nRestrictions System and Risks System to meet the latest international
\nstandards. \u00a0It also capitalizes on smart
\nsolutions and AI (Artificial Intelligence) apps to regulate appointment
\nprocedures and reduce paperwork between Bahrain Customs Affairs and operating
\ncompanies. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\nblockchain technologies to further enhance the accuracy of the digital transactions
\nand protects information confidentiality with minimum human interference, with
\nthe e-portal’s services also accessible through mobile phones and kiosks. <\/p>\n
\nSaw Ken Wye, Chief Executive Officer of CrimsonLogic said: “We are
\nhonoured to be partnering BCA in their digitalisation journey to reimagine how
\ntrade will look like for the Kingdom.\u00a0 With the increased focus on
\nefficiencies and connectivity, the new system will seamlessly share data
\nbetween the trade and logistics communities and BCA.\u00a0 The open
\narchitecture and modular design would ensure that BCA has an agile system that
\ncan readily adapt to the rapid changes in the new normal.”<\/p>\n
\ntender was announced in the first quarter of 2020 in cooperation with the
\nInformation and eGovernment Authority, and in line with the government’s
\nstrategy and the requirements of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 to achieve
\nelectronic integration through data exchange between customs-related e-systems
\nand e-services. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
