Case No.23 dated 28.06.2006 U\/s 7 E.C. Act\/13(2) r\/w 13(1)(c)(d) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988\/409\/477-A IPC for misappropriation \u00a0of \u00a0PDS Rice meant for the actual beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, i.e. on 11.11.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal convicted Sri Baral, Ex-Secretary and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s 409 IPC. The Hon\u2019ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/-(Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s 477-A IPC and \u00a0to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.3,000\/-(Rupees Three Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months for the offence U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(c) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.3,000\/-(Rupees Three Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months for the offence U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and \u00a0to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months and to pay fine of Rs.1,000\/-(Rupees One Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month for the offence U\/s 7 E.C. Act. All the sentences are to run concurrently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Rout, Ex-Inspector Vigilance, Cuttack Division had investigated the case and Sri K.C. Pattnaik, Spl.
